To the Victims of the judiciary crisis in 1988, it is a bitter medicine to be swallowed and the judiciary's creditablity and transparency is only half done as the government still owe them an untold truth of a set up conspiracy involving the then premier Dr Mahathir Mohammad.
Maybe it is some sort of compensations for the victims by granting ex gratia payments, it is by no means that the issue dies a natural death that a juduciary scandal is covered up foverever by saying that the crisis is a mistake of the then government and calling it a day for the whole truth.
It is totally unfair to the victims in particular and the Malaysians in general that the incumbent Governmnet and Pak Lah resort to admit a stupid mistake committed yet do not have the gut to apologize, what is it so hard to utter the word "Sorry" if you have done something wrong?
I believe that the compesations to the victims maybe viewed as a redress and consolations for them, yet I strongly assert that an apology must be tendered to the victimised judges, especially those who have passed away.
And, most importantl of all, the whole truth must be disclosed to the world if Malaysia aspires to redeem and re-establish independence, creditability, trustworthiness and transparency to the judiciary
